The Two Towers office building in Berlin Mitte was constructed in 1996. Following the acquisition of the building by La Française Forum Real Estate Partners in 2016, the ground floor areas were redeveloped and redesigned by Hoskins Architects. The redevelopment allows for new lettable areas on the ground floor as well as a revitalisation of the outdated foyer into a contemporary, attractive reception area. The small-scale commercial spaces on the street facade were merged into larger units and higher quality lettable spaces. A new elegant glass partition between the commercial units and the foyer brings natural light deep into the floor plan, thus visually enlarging the foyer and creating a more inviting atmosphere for the reception area. A previously unused inner courtyard can now be accessed via the foyer and complements the public areas with a quality outdoors space. The escape route, which previously crossed the lobby, was remodelled to improve fire safety and now leads directly to the outside. |
