Eastwood Health & Care Centre opens to the public
Opening to the public today (8 August 2016), Eastwood Health and Care Centre is a reference design development with contractor Morgan Sindall. Successfully delivered within budget, the project provides a benchmark for “excellent, sustainable and good value design”, achieved through the hub procurement process, serving as a model for future primary healthcare centres.
The facility has been delivered by hub West Scotland in partnership with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and East Renfrewshire Council, and will be occupied by the East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), along with five GP Practices.
Director Clare Kemsley is “delighted to have completed the Reference Project, which was designed from the outset to accommodate future flexibility, and an innovative layout and construction approach.” Adding that “the feedback received to date has been overwhelmingly positive. We hope the building will become a valued asset within the wider community, and make a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of the local service users and staff.”
The project has since been shortlisted for the Brick Awards ‘Best Public Building’, with the cerermony held in London 10 November.
